5 Reasons why your holiday needs a Gozo Photography Tour
1. You will be able to take a photo where the Azure Window used to be
Being one of the most internationally recognisable landmarks in Gozo, the Azure Window was the setting of the famous wedding intro from Game of Thrones. Other notable mentions include the Hugo Boss advert aired in Europe last year, and the notorious video of a person jumping off the Window with a small section of rocks falling after him.
Unfortunately the Azure Window has now crumbled, but there is still an opportunity to take pictures of where it used to be, and get creative with long exposure and superimpositions of old images…
2. You will get to see a completely different environment to Malta
Gozo is the island that time left behind. Victoria, or Cittadella as it’s affectionately known locally, has slowly been modernised, but other villages are still steeped in a yesteryear atmosphere, were time is not a luxury but a given, nothing is done too quickly and no meal goes by without a Siesta, or small nap, after.
You will be able to take snaps of the laid back lifestyle of the locals, who are the friendliest people you will ever meet, and are typically more than happy to pose for that excellent shot!
3. A feeling that you're living in the Past.
Gozo’s charm is infectious and will definitely draw you in and not let you go. From it’s towering fortifications, to tiny ancient chapels there is always something to awe you just round the corner.
Add to that Ggantija Temples, touting to be the Oldest man made standing structures in the world, pre-dating The Pyramids and Stonehenge by quote a few Centuries, it is unsurprising to feel like you have been teleported back to a much simpler time.
4. The local cuisine
Just like Malta, the local food is exquisitely simple. From local Sun Dried tomatoes, a uniquely prepared Goat’s Cheese called Gbejna (which can be served peppered, dried or fresh) to the freshest sea food you will ever taste, Gozo is the culinary equivalent to the perfect lighting in a photo.
By joining our Gozo Tour you will experience all of the above, tasting, seeing and experiencing Gozo through the lens of an experienced photography guide who will take you to the best spots the island has to offer.
5. Cats... Cats everywhere ... and they're friendly too.
No photography tour would be complete without taking a still of a couple of creatures. If Gozo should ever be twinned with another country, it would have to be Ancient Egypt. The locals seem to revere our purring four legged friends as much as the Pharos did, and you will not be surprised to see food let out for the neighbourhood cats to grow fat off of.
Even though they are street cats, they are just like their human neighbours, friendly, relaxed, love basking in the sun and would not complain to strike a pose.
